***** COVID-19 Update December 30, 2020 *****
The Governor has requested many counties at the red level move to orange starting January 4th. Douglas County is part of the group moving back to orange level. This move allows us to seat 25% of our capacity indoors, moves last-call to 10 pm, and forego interior tent walls. Additionally, it signals the start of live music on Friday nights! We kick-off our live music with Josh Blackburn on Friday, January 8th, at 6 pm.
We greatly appreciate all your support during this pandemic.
Please continue to be safe and strong!
***** COVID-19 Update November 28, 2020 *****
Thanks for the positive feedback on the outdoor private tent rooms. We feel it meets the covid level red requirements and provides a warm and cozy atmosphere to enjoy mead. With the fire pit, It’s like your own private mead hall!
Due to changes in last call rules by the state, we are adjusting our hours to:
- Thursday: 5pm-8pm (carryout, outdoor tent service),
- Friday: 5pm-8pm (carryout, outdoor tent service),
- Saturday: Noon-8pm (carryout, outdoor tent service)
- Sunday Noon-6pm (carryout, outdoor tent service)
Additionally, during the level red conditions, we will be postponing live-music and craft classes.
We greatly appreciate all your support during this pandemic.
Please continue to be safe and strong!
***** COVID-19 Update November 17, 2020 *****
Today is was announced that Douglas County will be moving to Level Red – Stay at Home on Friday 11/20/20. This effectively shuts down our tasting room to carry out or curbside orders only. We have canceled our live music for the next two weeks and take a wait and see attitude for the coming weeks as we pray for hospital numbers to go down across the state. We left the decision up to our food trucks if they want to give it a try while we operate under the new order. So it might be hit or miss on grabbing a to-go meal when picking up crowlers.
This Thursday 11/19/20 will be the final day our tasting room is open for in-person service until the Level Red order is lifted sometime (hopefully in the near) future.
We greatly appreciate all your support during this pandemic.
Please continue to be safe and strong!
***** COVID-19 UPDATE November 12, 2020 *****
Today it was officially announced that Douglas County will be moving to Covid-19 Level Orange at 5 pm 11/13/20. This has a minor impact on us and the tasting room still remains open but we are now limited to 25% capacity or 50 people inside the meadery. We also have an additional seating capacity under the outside heated canopy with tables 6 feet apart.
We are very proud of the safe environment we provide to our guests and very much appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe place to relax and enjoy mead. Under the current circumstances, we do not plan on adjusting our hours or schedule of events.
We very much appreciate your support as we adapt to this health emergency and are operating the tasting room in a safe manner to a smaller crowd on a first come first serve basis.
***** COVID-19 UPDATE July 17, 2020 *****
Today the Governor’s statewide mask order is now in effect. This does not change how we are currently operating under the current Douglas County variance. Just a reminder we all need to:
- Wear a mask while entering, exiting, or milling about the meadery
- While seated you are not required to wear a mask
- We can provide you a disposable mask if you don’t have one
We have plenty of socially distanced outdoor seating and have a new canopy arriving next week to shelter everyone from the sun and rain.
We very much appreciate your support during this health emergency and are operating the tasting room in a safe manner to a smaller crowd on a first come first serve basis.
***** COVID-19 UPDATE May 23, 2020 *****
CPHDE approved Douglas County’s variance request yesterday and we can now open our tasting room! Additionally, the state has approved expansion of our outdoor space. The rules for the tasting room still requires social distancing of 6+ feet and wearing masks when not seated. We also must limit seated parties to 6 or fewer people. Your safety is our top concern so we appreciate your help following the rules.
We are very excited for this day to come and we have now reverted back to our original hours of :
- Thursday, Friday: 5pm-9pm,
- Saturday: Noon-9pm,
- Sunday Noon-6pm
Curb-side and takeout service will still be available and you can call or text your order ahead of time to (720) 257-9866 so we can minimize your wait time at the meadery.
Thanks again for all your support!
***** COVID-19 UPDATE May 11, 2020 *****
Today the Governor announced that May 25 is the day he hopes to share the date when restaurants, bars, and ski resorts can start to open. We are looking at the reality that opening the tasting room will not happen in May. There is a possibility that Douglas County will get waivers or variances for businesses, but right now this is a long shot. We are very grateful for your support over the past 6 weeks. We really miss spending time hanging out with each of you in the tasting room! On a positive note, we anticipate getting our power upgrade in the next 2 weeks and the new beefy chiller is now being assembled for delivery in next 4-6 weeks. Our covid-19 hours are: Friday 5pm-9pm Saturday, Sunday Noon-6 pm
We very much appreciate your support during this health emergency and encourage you to call or text your order ahead of time to (720) 257-9866 so we can minimize your wait time at the meadery.
We are soliciting ideas on how to celebrate when this pandemic is behind us. Please send us ideas on Facebook, Instagram, or share with us in-person at the tasting room.
Please continue to be safe and strong!
***** COVID-19 UPDATE April 24, 2020 *****
Today Tri-County Health has followed the Governor’s recommendation on Safer at Home for Douglas County! Thank you, everyone, for doing their part in containing the spread of the virus. We all still need to continue to wear masks and practice social distancing to prevent a second outbreak. Even though the stay at home order expires on Sunday, we have not been given permission to make changes in operations and services. We anticipate additional guidance over the next few weeks. Our covid-19 hours are: Friday 5pm-9pm Saturday, Sunday Noon-6 pm
We very much appreciate your support during this health emergency and encourage you to call or text your order ahead of time to (720) 257-9866 so we can minimize your wait time at the meadery.
Please continue to be safe and strong!
***** COVID-19 UPDATE April 20, 2020 *****
The Governor has announced today he will not extend his stay at home order set to expire on April 27th. In the short term, we don’t anticipate any changes in how we can operate. In the future, our best guess is we will open the tasting room to a fraction of our current capacity. We are awaiting further guidance from the Town, Tri-County Health, and Douglas County. We do anticipate having to spread out seating to better support social distancing. To that end, we are working through the process to double our outdoor seating space. Until the time we can open the tasting room our covid-19 hours are: Friday 5pm-9pm Saturday, Sunday Noon-6 pm
We very much appreciate your support during this health emergency and encourage you to call or text your order ahead of time to (720) 257-9866 so we can minimize your wait time at the meadery.

***** COVID-19 UPDATE April 6, 2020 *****
The Governor has extended his stay at home order for another 20 days through April 26th. This has been very uncertain and trying times for many businesses and we consider ourselves lucky to be surviving the downturn. Please continue supporting your local Castle Rock Businesses or send them words of encouragement. It costs nothing and really helps more than you can know. You are all the Best and we are blessed to be part of this community!
Now for some GOOD NEWS. The IHME model forecasts Colorado peaked in hospital beds and deaths this past weekend. Hopefully, this model accurately predicts our current situation and the worst has passed. Additionally, their model dramatically reduced the predicted number of people hospitalized or potentially dying from the virus: https://covid19.healthdata.org/ Also great news is that the hospitals in the tri-county region are currently experiencing lower than normal admissions at this time: https://www.tchd.org/823/Case-Updates
***** COVID-19 UPDATE March 31, 2020 *****

Under the order, Honnibrook is still allowed to provide curb-side and take-out service as an essential retail business. Tri-County Health Department has rescinded its local order to ensure consistent rules apply across the state. The new state order is currently set to expire on April 11th.

The text of order can be accessed HERE You are able to do essential activities provided you strictly follow safety protocols such as Social Distancing to prevent further spread of the virus.

Wow! what an incredible weekend! You all are the very best! The concern, love, and support you each expressed to us were inspiring. You also set a record Saturday for most crowlers sold! These are some crazy times, but we remain focused on providing you all with some of the best mead on the planet. We absolutely love sharing our passion with you all, and we plan to be part of this community for a very, very long time.
Please continue to stay safe and strong!
***** COVID-19 UPDATE March 17, 2020 *****
Apparently, at the same time we decided to go take out service, the governor has mandated bars, restaurants, and tasting rooms are to close for the next 30 days except for take-out and delivery service.
This mandate does not change our plans but does put a timeline to execute our plan.
Please continue to support all the Castle Rock Businesses that will be impacted by this new mandate!
***** COVID-19 UPDATE March 16, 2020 *****
Dear Friends, Family, and Neighbors,
Having been actively monitoring the COVID-19 updates and wanting to play our part in keeping our community safe, we are taking the following decisive actions:
1) We will be suspending Thursday hours. Our hours of operation will be Friday 5-9pm, Saturday Noon-9pm, and Sunday Noon-6pm.
2) We will now offer car side to-go crowler & bottle service (please call ahead for faster service).
3) The tasting room will only be open for take-out crowler & bottle service (sorry no tasters or pours).
We understand these changes are drastic and not how we like to do business and connect with each one of you. Nevertheless, we hope that these actions will help minimize the length of this pandemic effect on our community.
Sincerely,
Mike & DJ
Combining artistry and honest ingredients with 21st-century technology and know-how, Honnibrook is modernizing the classic definition of mead. We think you will agree our meads rightly own the title of ‘Nectar of the Gods.’
